Common Side Effects of Synephrine Based Diet Pills
73After the FDA ban on ephedra-based diet pills, drug manufacturers turned to herbal ingredients and synthetic formulas that imitate ephedra's effects in the body. Synephrine is one of them, a drug that releases adrenaline and noradrenalin the body in order to stimulate the metabolism. Millions of dieters now depend on this potent ingredient to help with their weight loss goals, and it is a stimulant that may be just as addictive as caffeine. Even though thousands of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts continue to use synephrine as a dietary supplement, it does have many side effects.
How Does Synpehrine React in the Body?
Synephrine is used in diet pills as a metabolic enhancer, and is commonly found in many fat burners, thermogenic products, and appetite suppressing formulas. Synephrine acts as a stimulant in the body, and helps to break down fat while it shifts the adrenaline system into high gear. Synephrine helps to:
• Stimulate fat metabolism
• Suppress the appetite
• Create a sense of well-being
• Increase energy, often providing a ‘rush' similar to caffeine
• Increase caloric expenditure
The ingredient is derived from the fruit of Citrus aurantium, and is usually listed as Bitter Orange, Zhishi, and Sour Orange in ‘natural' weight loss products.
Since synephrine is so similar in chemical structure to ephedrine, it may have the same types of side effects that many ephedra users endured, and continue to suffer from. Ongoing research and clinical trials will provide more information on the long-term effects of syneprhine, but until then, there is no conclusive evidence that the drug is safe. Almost all diet pills that contain synephrine have not been approved by the FDA.
Common Side Effects of Synephrine
Since synephrine acts as a stimulant in the body, it is not a good match for people who are sensitive to caffeine, and those who have history of heart problems, high blood pressure, and even thyroid problems. Side effects of synephrine may include:
• Rapid increases in blood pressure
• Cardiac arrythmias
• Flushing of the skin
• Sweating
• Restlessness
• Hostility or agitation
• Respiratory problems
• Dizziness
• Headaches
• Tremors
• Extremely low blood sugar and blood sugar imbalances
These are all similar in scope to ephedrine and ephedra-based diet drugs that are now banned from the market. Still, synephrine continues to be combined with other stimulants such as guarana, kola nut (for caffeine), green tea, and white willow ( a natural form of aspirin).
Bottom line: Synephrine is an amphetamine-like substance that creates a similar reaction in the body as ephedrine. Even though it is derived from fruit, it is powerful enough to create a significant change in the body which may or may not lead to weight loss. Anyone interested in losing weight for the long term can do so with regular exercise, a healthy diet, and making sure they are taking supplements that contain vital minerals and vitamins to keep the body healthy. Drugs such as synephrine contain harmful chemicals that can rid the body of essential nutrients, and make it even more challenging to lead a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle.

i did use this pills since 1st day i did experience vertigo and dozziness hypersomnia and sens of general status alteration
could it be related to hypotension?
usually i do not eat much but i am overweight because i do not do sports
could it be rather from hypoglycemia
How typical for someone to disguise an anti drug rant in the form of a "news" report. Every substance on planet earth "alters" your body chemistry. As a nation we seem to have no problem giving adderall to overactive boys and apparently that is "safe" however bitter orange ISN'T? If the drug nazis want to do something good then let them find a long list of safe drugs to take....because bitter orange is a really good example of how people will find something to take and take it no matter what you ban! Aren't people tired of minding everyone else's business!!!!!!!???????? I have tried bitter orange.... in moderation it is simply fine. It gave me a rush of alertness and kept me going. I don't take a full dose! I take a very small dose and let me say it again..IT IS FINE!!! What is next.....a ban on Dunkin Donuts??? If you don't trust bitter orange then don't take it. But for god's sake leave everyone alone that does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with the last comment made. There has been sufficient evidence enough to keep synephrine legalised. I have started taking it in the form of a body building supplement and as long as you do not abuse the product or drug (by the way every thing you consume throughout the day is a drug) then you should find no severe side effects from it.
moderation is key! if you drink a case of 12 coka cola you will experience anxiety dizziness and a general sense of uneasiness. so should we ban coke? the same for anything. use your head. be kind to your body and relax. the sky will still be up there. there will be no blood on the floor. everything will be fine.
cool your jets.
I am just reading up on this ... and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on what "brand" to purchase?
It is a powerful drug indeed.
I took the recommended dosage for a week and felt many side-effects, including tremors, spasms, arrythmia. Also, i felt the "extra-happiness", and some of the restlessness.
I stopped using it for it just didn't seem worth it, the side-effects seemed just plain too risky compared to the possible benefits.
Mrs. Sabah in her post says long term fat loss is something you can achieve otherwise, and that seems true to me.
My suggestion is if you intend to take one of these talk to a doctor, monitor your heart activity etc. Doesn't make sense to get screwed up while actually trying to get healthier.
Peace
Should keep it legal, though.
Hello! I am taking an energy booster which contains 20mg of synephrine for 1 capsule. I normally take 2 caps /day. 1 at morn & the other in the evenings. So far so good...but I really need to work-out after taking it, else it makes me feel a little sh*tty too..
I agree with John. Anything you "abuse" or over indulge in is going to have negitive effects on your body; further more, dosages very for EVERYONE! Obviously, if you take a supplement that gives you energy then don't work out your going to feel jittery. You just supplied your body with an abundent amount of enery and now it's just sitting there. If you put an empty battery on the charger it will replenish, if you put a fully charged battery on the charger it will have damaging effects. In addition, varying body weights equals... you got it! VARYING DOSAGES. If your a 150 pounds your obviously going to take a smaller dosage then that of 225 pound person. Do the research and educate your self befor taking a supplement. Nearly all supplements have recomended dosages on the outside of the container ie. some vary from 1-2 capsuls a day and so on... This is a generalized estimate, not exact. Go on-line and look up the mg/lb dosage recomendation and you will know exactly how much of a product to take for your body. This should eliminate any side-effects do to accidental over usage. In conclusion I would like to add that everyones bodies work different and some supplements WONT work for you while they might work wonders for the next person and vise versa.
P.S. John is also right about the fact that people will take any supplement they want to regaurdless if it's banned or not. The decision on what to put in your body should be yours and yours alone. Goverment identities control eneogh aspects of my life I don't need to be told what to ingest as well! Clenbuterol is a "banned" substance; however, I am gladly taking it now and I plan on buying more in the futer because that is MY decision and I know I will make a responsible supplemental plan while using it. I hope this is educational for the author: Sabah Karimi and other missled individuals. Just as I hope this is enlighting for individuals considering taking bitter orange or any other supplement. Remember use in moderation and do your research.
Hello, I'm searching for diet related blogs like mine http://www.chiefdietician.com and I stumbled your site, nice blog!. I hope you could also include me in your blogroll.
By the way, you have a very good writing skills here. Keep up the good work.
hi, i have recently begun to shed the winter weight with some remaining baby weight (still there after two years). Normally, regular exercise like running/walking combined with moderate weight lifting whips me right back into shape. It is work, but it's well worth it. However, this year it has been harder getting into the swing of things. I am almost 3o and with chasing after 4 kids have found my energy levels not to be quite where they were when i was 18. So, I have started taking a pill that contains synephrine. That being said, I know my own body. I normally have low blood sugar and low blood pressure, so I am making sure to eat frequently and take in plenty of fluids, including water and non caffeinated teas such as ginger with lemon. I very rarely take any meds, even over-the-counter meds and i am careful about what i put into my body. It's true that everything is a drug and just because something is synthetic or natural doesn't mean it's better or worse than the other. The key is knowing your own body. The pill I am taking recommends up to four pills a day. For a really big man who is a bodybuilder that would probably be sufficiant. However, I am a smaller female so I bagan with only one pill a day before my morning workout. That is all I feel I will need and plan on taking it no more than a month or two. With one pill, I notice that I don't have any more of a rush than what I get in a cup of green tea. The difference is that this pill is time released so it sustains it's effects longer, which I like. I wouldn't want it to hit me all at once. I am sensitive, after all. One pill is just fine. I noticed it raises my temp, which for me is fine also, being that I am always cold, with cold feet and hands. If you are someone who is always warm to begin with, I wouldn't recommend this product. It gives me a light, sustained energy pick-up, better mental clarity yet doesn't leave me jittery or not able to take a nap if i feel like it. The dose on the bottle is equal to 20 mg per two pills. I am taking half of that in a single day. Only 10 mg. So, my suggestion is to take smallest dose possible and if that works, don't assume that taking more is better. Know yourself. Also make sure to drink enough fluids to keep your body flushed. Eat better and frequently and pay attention to your body's signals. Also, don't forget that without being active, it won't get the fat to go away. Exercising makes me feel better than anything else. Just getting started after a few winter months can be difficult!
I agree with you on what you have said about synephrine. From this information people will now think ten times before taking any decision to buy it
One thing I'd like to touch upon is that weightloss routine fast is possible by the proper diet and exercise. An individual's size not simply affects the look, but also the general quality of life. Self-esteem, depressive disorders, health risks, as well as physical ability are influenced in fat gain. It is possible to do everything right but still gain. If this happens, a medical problem may be the reason. While an excessive amount of food instead of enough exercise are usually responsible, common health concerns and widespread prescriptions may greatly amplify size. Kudos for your post in this article.

I too am sick of people abusing perfectly good products and then the government banning them all together. I was a very loyal and successful "Metabolite" (The generic) "Metabolife" customer. Typically I only took a half a pill to one pill once or twice a day! I was thin and felt great! I have severe adult ADD and I was able to get the benefit of added concentration along with increased energy and significant and long lasting weight loss. I was feeling good and looking good. Thanks to the idiots that took a half a bottle at a time and gave themselves heart attacks we lost the best, and in my opinion safest weight loss pill that has ever been on the market. So I agree stay out of it good doers and Don't take it if you can't control yourself! That's why I don't drink! Take responsibility for yourself! Nobody had to ban it for me!
I am currently using T5 max strength within the recommended dosage! I am absolutely fine. I feel energised and to my delight I am starting loosing some weight. Don't over do it and stop complaining.

I totall agree with what you said about synephrine. I tried it once and got really anxious and dizzy while being outside walking into a store. My bloodsugar got so low and I felt like walking on eggs. The only thought I had was safely getting back to my car and lay down to get my body back to normal. I remember that I was so scared to faint and pass out that I didn't even care about what I came into the store for. Crossing the streets seemed almost impossible because I imagined not making it to the parking lot. I am sure that this came from the synephrine together with the caffeine.
